“Mediocrity begins with me” is the building block of belief which I am going to build the foundation of 2013 upon because I want this new year to be anything but mediocre. Therefore it is important to remind myself that mediocre results, a mediocre life, a mediocre experience and even a mediocre day begins with me. (more…)

June first was the seven year anniversary of my wife Robin’s suicide, on that day I wrote The Suicide Note as a response to the actual suicide note which she had written to me as an explanation for her actions. It seems to me like a lifetime ago that I wrote that my response, but in fact, it has been less than a week. (more…)

My Dearest Wife,

Today is the seven year anniversary of your suicide; a moment in time which changed my entire life, forever. It was on this day seven long years ago that I returned home from work to find that you had taken your own life using a combination of pills, alcohol, and when that didn’t work, a gun… I’ve yet to get the odd smell created by the combination of Cognac, gunpowder and blood that hung in the air out of my nostrils, but as with most things I’ve become kind of used to it. If you are happy and satisfied with the life you are living, then your model of the world has been built upon a firm foundation which is based upon fulfilling each of the six human needs in a positive manner. Today is Valentine’s Day. If you are in a relationship it is quite likely a day of celebration which is filled with flowers, candy and cards. If you are single, it is often viewed upon as the dreaded day of love, where you are once again reminded that you don’t have any. Some people view it as a day of class warfare, it is a day divided by the have’s and the have-nots. “It is a day created by Hallmark to sell more cards” etc., is a fairly popular explanation touted by men who feel like they are forced to celebrate Valentine’s Day when they are in a relationship, and who are most likely stressed out of their minds, trying to figure out what an appropriate gift might be, and whether it will be well received.
